Random Haikus

I wrote this letter
In hopes that you would reply
I am still waiting

These corrupt police
That force you to pay for peace
Eagles with plucked wings

Even in daytime
Amongst the gangs, weed and drink
Fela's shrine lives on

Counting down my sleeps
Till our eyes meet again
Weeks feeling like months

When it rains, it pours
Its scent, reminds me of home
My home, from home.

She flinches when called
Like a cat sprung from its sleep
Ready, to serve you

This look in your eyes
Like dark clouds forming over.
This stranger, that speaks.

Simply put, we are
Flames, dancing on water, and
The sun, beaming hope.
